Update fucked Up this Site. Last week I logged on with some Pictures to upload. Site was getting worked on. When it was back up, Site went from an A (93), easy to Navigate, to a D (68). Went to re-read a Story from a Well Known Member. An older story. At bottom of that Writers Story page, it just ends. No next page button. Have to go to All Content from So @ So and go through page after page of both Stories and Comments (Yes, comments) to find that Story. Why. I cant be the only person who sees this. I know its a free site, but I have been a Member for awhile, and have uploaded about 1000 Pics, a dozen videos. Now Im thinking, Why bother? No one will see them. WELL DONE!!

I get the FREE part. it was in my comment. Its not just the story pages thing. The whole thing is messy and harder to navigate. What was the point? Site was fine last week. Now its not. Pornhub is free as well. They made big changes 6 months ago or so. Who would go there now? if it aint broke, dont fix it.

You are assuming that nothing at all whatsoever was broken on the site. This is incorrect. For example, the reporting system did not work before. I just thought that members here never reported anything, and every member probably thought that site staff simply ignore reports. But now I've seen & addressed several reported posts/messages in a couple days. What does that have to do with site navigation? No idea, but I know enough about computer code to know that it does strange and mysterious things when you fiddle with the 1's and 0's.
Anyway, its no secret that content navigation in general has been mediocre at best here. And yes, the site update made it worse. My guess is that the lack of 'depth' to the author page is a fixable bug (vs a new permanent feature). I know extremely little about the nuts and bolts of the site, so please don't take that as anything other than a guess.
If you want to find stories (or other content) from a member, use the search. I just checked the advanced search with Curt Bruch & found his 200 most recent stories (that's the max result limit). If I include a keyword, like 'journal', its down to 103 results. And with the 'title only' tickbox checked, I end up with his entire Journal of a Journey series with nothing else mixed in (including comments). So no, its not impossible to find things.
Admin is working on things. Remeber: they didn't do this to piss you off. So maybe give them a little slack as they deal with the unintended consequences of fiddling with the 1's and 0's.
I apreciate your response. So what you are saying is go to search icon, type in Writers name, search that way? When I say its a Mess, that is the sort of thing I am talking about. Extra steps. This has been my Favorite Website for awhile. Oh well. To quote Jenna Presley I "Spend way to much time looking at Porn." Thanks.
Click the 'members' tab in the top nav bar, and you will see on the right hand side the option to list all authors. 2 things I still need to do: Figure out how to get the results to paginate instead of displaying a giant list, and I also probably need to add some more recent authors to the usergroup.

Here's the thing Lovell: A website and the software it runs on IS like an apple product. If you don't update, the software will eventually just stop working totally. DW was getting close to that point. We are using the same software now, just the most recent version of it. Any update is always going to be a pain in the ass at first, but you just have to do it and work out the bugs as they show themselves. Of course, if I were a million dollar company, I could have a test server and 10 programmers doing error checking for six months before launching anything new. Unfortunately, that's not the case. This is the best I can do. If there's something specific about the old site you miss that isn't on this version of the site lmk and I'll see about getting it added back in.
I applaud your efforts and I do realize the service you provide 8.5 stars. But the real trick to an up grade is to remain the same working theory and functional ability so the non teck friendly can use effortlessly
I do try lol, but I have to work within the limits of my knowledge and my bank account. At the next iteration of xenforo we're going to be able to install an addon that converts forum posts into actual articles(stories), so that should be a big upgrade to the site. There are other things that need improved that I already have my eye on, but like I said, if there's something specific that you don't like feel free to list it in this thread so I can check it out and maybe do something about it.

You had such a great site going a real sense of like minded all be some more extreme than others but it was a nice community non the less.

We get a lot of joins, but up until the recent change most of them were spambots from Russia and Poland. Now we've pretty much killed that, or at least we kill it as soon as they get started. I did notice that you were welcoming new members, which I think is pretty cool. How were you doing that? Just checking the member list for new guys?

I was taken by the sense of community I just tried to go with that but the new format albums are not what they where and the rest seems to be work

ah yeah... I didn't like having to change the format of the media gallery but the guy who made the old addon for the site isn't updating it anymore, so I didn't have much choice. Now it's just the standard Xenforo media setup instead of our specialized format. Tomorrow I'm going to add some categories to the media gallery to help the navigation. Going to be a big job trying to get all the existing content into the right category though ugh
