I respect your opinion but I think the time has come to let people vote directly for the executive. Allowing for the legislative branches perform their checks and balances. The last president that pushed for the electoral college abolishment was Richard Nixon, a democratic controlled senate stymied the bill.

I'm saying to use your brain and look at facts, not what ever the media is telling you. The media in the United States has not been objective and lost all pretense of journalistic integrity when COVID dropped. How do I know? Because a black man I may or may not still be intimate with works for them, and HE knows, because he lives it. Daily. The Mainstream media in the US is all-propaganda, now. From BLM/BNWO to politics. Voting should NEVER be an emotional issue, because in the end, emotions are not what is at risk. Your future, OUR future is. Look at history, both recent and farther back, and look at trends, what has happened, and what has not. Think about the economy, think about inflation, and how and why we got to where we are today. Why are we in this condition? What about open borders? Who else has done it, and what did THEY learn from it? What problems are they experiencing? What problems are WE experiencing? Is this something we want, from a logical and reasoned point of view? Not some emotional position, use actual brainpower.

Look at world politics, and why we have 2 countries at war to defend their very existence. The world looks toward the US to be the world's policeman. But can we do that if we have a suffering economy? What about protecting our own interests? What do our current government's actions and policies look like similar to not only previous administrations, but also previous eras and times?

What has each candidate accomplished? Look at their records? Look at their policies? Look at their actions, especially in times of crisis. Look at their deeper histories. This will tell you an awful lot about them, as individuals. What did they do and how did they respond?

What about their running mates? What are they like? What have they accomplished? What about their personal histories?

These are but a few of the things to reason out and consider before voting. Choose who you think will be best. But if you are comfortable voting for someone who has NEVER received a vote for a high public office in the past. You will get what you ask for.

I can talk for days about why Harris is not the right person. Honestly, Trump is not the very best we could have, either. But Ronald Reagan is dead, and left with these two leading candidates, I'll take the lesser of two evils. That is Trump.

I assure you I understand American History. Our founding fathers made one feature of the constitution perfect, it is amendable. It is not set in stone, it takes a great effort to change it and it can't be done lightly.

The electoral college was originally supposed to be a "college" of non political well educated electors. There have been a few changes since then. Of course, back then the 1st runner up in the presidential race became the VP. This was before political parties.

I think that even many people who have always voted Democrat, today are deeply ashamed of what their party has been reduced to!

Try to empathize with those parents whose children were taken away by the LGBTQIA+ sect and today are desperate because they live as if their children were dead ... while others speculate on that desperation making money and ignoring the cries of those fathers and mothers!

The real choice is not between Democrats and Republicans, but between a false woke culture, which wants us all psychologically oppressed by the fear of not using enough asterisks and schwas, of losing our children, who will see their lives destroyed by drugs and surgery, and an America where behaving like sane people is still not a crime.
 
Today is the day. Not many of us are thrilled with either candidate, but this is a binary choice. Both campaigns have made serious mistakes. Both candidates are rogues and wild cards. One is outrageously opinionated and the other talks endlessly and never expresses any opinion at all. It is possible that this is the most pathetic election in history.

But elections have always been a binary choice.
All politics is personal.
Decide what is personal and choose.

The Black race can only benefit from this election. This is not correct. Obama, Clinton and Biden pushed for the elimination of the Electoral college. Rep. Steven Cohen (D) in addition to 8 other Democrats submitted submitted H.J. Res 14 to the 117th Congress in 2021. SOURCE Obviously, it did not pass.

It is far more difficult that people realize, because it would need a Constitutional Amendment, which has not happened since 1971. The Congressional Salary Bill was introduced in 1789, with the 27th Amendment, but was not ratified until 2016, a rare aberration in the US Constitutional process. SOURCE
