I'm not from the United States, and whilst I have a go occasionally about their nuances on 'race' (no such thing scientifically, but obviously exists historically, socially etc) I do understand and respect their non-allowance of the *N* word.
However my understanding is that other people who identify themselves as 'blacks' (see above disagreement of mine) can call themselves, or their close 'black' friends the *N* word. I might also be wrong about that.

We also have a small percentage of dark skinned Indians (from the subcontinent), from Africa, and even smaller from South America.
