Nightschool Assignment: The Janice Atkinson Story By Badandy2

Janice Atkinson sat intently in the small college lecture room. At the front of the room, Professor Edwin Marr was giving a long winded speech on the effect of location versus lifestyles. Janice had decided to try and further her education in the effort to receive a job promotion at the sales company she worked at. It was decided that to move up in the company she needed a degree in sociology and thus she had decided to head back to school.

At 34 years of age, it was a little harder for Janice Atkinson to just pick up and head off back to school. She was married and had two young ********* that needed looking after, but her husband Bryan had ageed that it was an opportunity that she couldn't miss and insisted that she attempt the education process. It also wasn't easy on Janice that she had to leave her home in Canada and attend a small satellite college just outside of Detroit. Though it was only a hour and a away from her home, Janice had to stay at the school during the week to save the on going battle of crossing the Canadian-U.S border all the time. Yes, it was hard enough that she had to be away from her ****** during the week . . . but even harder that she had to attend school in a foreign country. But she was convinced that her hard work would pay off in the long run.

Janice was the oldest student in Proffesor Marr's class and since she was a 'so-called? foreign student, she felt that Proffessor Marr was harder on her than some of the other students in the class. Janice took particular note that the student that sat beside her seemed to get rather special treatment, he was a young colored man named Calvin Smith. As far as Janice could figure, Calvin Smith was probably in his earlt twenties. He wasn't a brillant student, but he seemed to do okay paticularily with Proffessor Marr's extra assistance, Janice Atkinson felt that the proffesor was always showing favortism towards the young black.

Janice Atkinson also felt that the other classmates seemed to give her the cold shoulder, perhaps it was the diferent way in which she dressed. Unlike many of the younger students who dressed in jeans, t-shirts and casual clothing . . . while Janice was always dressed atriculte. The pretty housewife believed in wearing knee length pleated skirts, with nylons, fancy blouses and usually a dress jacket or sweater. The mid thirty wife just couldn't understand why the other students didn't dress as nice as she did.

Proffessor Marr's classes were usually the last ones of the day for Janice, generally starting at 4pm and ending around 6. The course had been the toughest part of the housewife's return to school and she found herself very close to the borderline of either passing or failing. The school year was nearing the end and Janice Atkinson knew that the up coming class assignment was going to be important to whether she passed the course.

Proffessor Marr casually strolled around the room as he announced the upcoming assignment, ?Okay class, I will now pass out the topic in which each of you will be expected to write a full and detailled essay on. I expect you to use in depth investigation to do your essay and if need be, use whatever methods needed as resourse!?. Proffessor Mar then proceeded to walk around to each of the students and hand them a written copy of what their topic was to be. Janice Atkinson noticed that Proffessor Marr had a smug grin on his face when he handed the sheet to her.

Janice Atkinson did?nt care much for the elderly proffessor, besides always showing favortism towards Calvin Smith Janice felt as though the proffessor always se
