Malik wasted no time in enacting his plan. The very next morning during breakfast, I found out from my sister that he would be joining us for dinner that same day. She referred to him as her boyfriend. *** was surprised by the sudden boyfriend announcement, but he agreed to have Malik come over. My sister excitedly jumped out of her chair and kissed *** on the cheek, thanking him. Mom was clearly excited too, and *** noticed.
"You seem like you've already met this young man?" *** asked mom.
"Yes, he's come over a few times while you were away on that business trip. I love him, I really think you will as well." Mom responded cheerfully.
What a way to tell the truth without telling the whole story, I thought to myself.
*** responded, "Well, that's quite the endorsement! I'll pick up some steaks on my home from work. Oh, and Chris, you should invite your girlfriend too. We'll make it a big get together."
I meekly agreed, knowing how the "big get together" would more than likely end up.
"I'll ask her at school today and let you know if she can make it," I said.
"Perfect! Alright then, I'm gonna head to the office, looking forward to tonight."
*** announced he was leaving and gave mom a quick kiss on his way out. As soon as we heard the garage door closing, my mom and sister jumped up and hugged each other.
"This is going to be amazing!" my mom said, "Oh, what do you think I should wear?"
